BFI FILM ACADEMY IS BACK IN HULL

After successfully running the BFI Film Academy in Hull in 2015, we are currently recruiting for the 2016 course. We are looking for bright and enthusiastic participants, who are aged between 16 and 19 from the Hull and Humber region. We applicants who are passionate about film and filmmaking and are read to learn from award winning professionals and experience more in order to develop a career in the film industry. 

Led by VividEcho and Hull based BAFTA winning Producer, Chris Hees, the Academy will include weekly mentoring, masterclasses from industry names, as well as teach students all you need to know about writing, shooting and editing your own short film and animations.

As well as receiving the weekly mentoring from Chris Hees, the key guests will include locally born filmmakers such as BAFTA nominated Writer/Director Mark Herman, Oscar winning Sound and Music Editor of Gravity, Chris Benstead and BAFTA nominated animation studio MewLab.

At the end of the course participants will join the BFI Academy alumni, and be equipped with a Silver Arts Award, all going towards the next step in their career.

TheBFI Film Academy will run during some weekends and Monday evenings during October and November. The course is £25 per person but bursaries and travel grants are available so the expense shouldn’t stop anyone applying.
